Happy (Chinese) New Year

The 8 February 2016 saw the start of the Chinese New Year, The Year of the Monkey. I had always wanted to go to a celebration of the Chinese New Year so I packed my Fujifilm X-T1 and 16-55mm zoom and headed off to Liverpool to capture the essence of the event on the Sunday before the New Year started. The weather was perfect up to about 2pm, with clear blue skies and bright sunshine, ideal for making images. There were plenty of subjects to photograph such as dragons, flags, folk having fun and so much more. I spent about four hours at the event before heading for home. I hope you enjoy the images I’ve chosen as much as I enjoyed the day.
